Building Financial Models That Actually Work

We started clorivantexa because we kept seeing analysts struggle with the same problems.

Back in 2019, our founder Callum was working at a mid-sized investment firm when he noticed something odd. Analysts were spending more time fixing broken spreadsheets than actually analyzing deals. And the training programs available? They taught theory but missed the practical stuff you need every single day.

We Built What We Wished Existed

The idea wasn't complicated. What if there was a place that taught financial modeling the way experienced analysts actually do it—with all the shortcuts, error-checking techniques, and real-world adjustments that textbooks skip?

So Callum partnered with Freya, who'd spent years training junior analysts at a Big Four firm. She knew exactly where people got stuck. Together, they created training programs that focused on practical application over theoretical perfection.

Our first course in early 2020 had eleven participants. We ran it completely online out of necessity, and honestly, it worked better than we expected. People learned faster when they could pause, rewind, and work through models at their own pace.

By mid-2021, we'd expanded to cover valuation models, scenario planning, and forecast structures. What started as a side project became something bigger.

What We Focus On

Our courses aren't designed to make you an expert overnight. They're built to help you get better at the specific tasks that matter in your role—whether you're building acquisition models, running sensitivity analyses, or just trying to make your forecasts less fragile.

Real-World Models

We teach using actual deal structures and business scenarios. Not simplified examples that fall apart when you apply them to messy real data.

Error Prevention

Half the battle is knowing where models typically break. We show you how to build in checks and balances that catch problems before your manager does.

Speed Techniques

The difference between a decent analyst and a great one often comes down to efficiency. We share the keyboard shortcuts and workflow optimizations that save hours.

Who We Are

A small team of people who've been in your shoes and remember what it was like to feel overwhelmed by complex modeling requirements.

Freya Lennox

Director of Training Programs

Spent seven years training analysts at major accounting firms before joining clorivantexa. She has this talent for breaking down complicated concepts into steps that actually make sense. Her background in both audit and advisory gives her a unique perspective on what makes models reliable versus what just looks impressive.

How We Teach

Our approach is straightforward. We don't believe in throwing theory at people and hoping they figure out the application later.

Each course walks you through building actual models from scratch. You'll make mistakes—that's intentional. Because figuring out why something doesn't work is often more valuable than being handed the correct formula.

1
Start with context Before diving into spreadsheets, we explain what business problem you're trying to solve and why this particular model structure makes sense.
2
Build alongside You'll construct models step by step with guided instruction. Pause when you need to, review sections that didn't click, work at whatever pace suits you.
3
Test your understanding Exercises give you chances to apply concepts without hand-holding. You'll know whether you've actually absorbed the material or just followed along.

Let's Talk About Your Modeling Skills
